The surgical instrument for suturing organs and tissues with metal staples comprises the supporting body with the longitudinal slot and the flat frame. The frame has the supporting jaw provided with the flat spot facing the slot. The flat spot of the supporting jaw has a number of depressions for the staple legs to bend. The slot accommodates the staple body with the head into which the staple magazine is inserted, and the staple ejector. The slot in the supporting body opens in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the supporting body frame, whereby a possibility is provided for the staple body with the staple ejector to insert into and extract from the slot in said direction.
