<p>The valve assembly has a plug working against a seat, at diaphragm sensitive to pressure differences, an adjustable spring, and a component to couple them all together. An O-ring (10) is mounted in the valve seat (8), and a ball (11) forms a seal against the ring in the shut position. At other times it bears against the component coupling (12) the other ones together. At the ball side of the O-ring the seat can extend outwards in a cone, the angle being such that when the ball lifts off the free passage between it and the seat housing is > that between it and the O-ring. The widened part of the seat can be so arranged as to centre the ball when in a non-horizontal position.</p> |
