<p>A locking system for the drawers of articles of furniture such as desks and filing cabinets having a lock-actuated rotatable, horizontal lock rod member which activates, through a single crank system, vertically movable locking bars at the side of the drawers. Locking studs are located on the locking bars which are engageable with brackets on the drawers. The rotatable rod member engages with and actuates the locking bars upwardly and downwardly and the locking studs have enlarged heads thereon which prevent lateral movement of the sides of the drawer relative to the lock bar. The system is economically manufactured and of simple construction.</p> |
