PROCESS FOR PRODUCING POROUS ACRYLIC FIBERS

Wet-spinning porous acrylic fibers from a spin dope containing a fine dispersion of both (a) an inert gas such as air and (b) an inert, low-boiling (b.p. 30-100.degree.C.) liquid which is substantially insoluble in the spin dope and coagulant by a process which includes passing the wet-gel fiber through steam or hot water at a temperature above the boiling point of said inert liquid to evaporate it.
