Electrolysis plant having monopolar cells - with access from below for bridging cells requiring repairs

An electrolysis plant has many monopolar cells connected in series by conductors. Each cell has an anodic inlet and a cathodic outlet. A moveable bridging switch located below the cells is includes connectors enabling the cells adjacent to a failed cell to be connected together. According to the novelty, the cathode outlets are extended to a point below the level of the cell floors, and contact surfaces are provided on these extensions for the connection terminals of the conductors and the bridging switch. The conductors can be connected to the terminals of the bridging switch by means of further contact surfaces. All of the contact surfaces are so placed that they are easily accessible from below the cells. The cells themselves are arranged next to one another without spaces large enough for access by personnel between them.
