1445280 Positioning article to be printed ULTRA ANSTALT FUR ELEKTROTECHNIK HOCHFREQUENZ UND ULTRASCHALLTECHNIK 12 March 1974 [8 March 1974] 10999/74 Heading B6C Apparatus positioning a loose leaf or bound pad or book 3, e.g. a cheque book, at a printing station comprises a holder 16 movable vertically above work-table 1 between clamping and non- clamping position and registration studs 4, 5, 6 which pass through bores 7 in the table 1; when the holder 16 is raised, the studs project above the surface of table 1 to assist positioning of the pad or book 3 inserted from end 2 under the holder; the holder 16 is then lowered into clamping position and the studs retract below the table. In the particular embodiment, studs 4, 5 register the sides of pad or book 3 while stud 6 acts as a front stop; all the studs are carried on arm 8 which pivots at 10 under the action of push stud 14 co-operating with the holder 16. Lowering of the holder is achieved by movement of actuating lever 23. After each print operation, the printed leaf is turned over by suction head 32 on pivot arm 31. |
