The apparatus is provided in order to be mounted on a sewing machine, and is driven by a lever (44), itself moved by the needle shaft (NB) of the machine. A device with cams and a lever (30, 50, 54, 58) converts the to-and-fro motion of the needle into a rectangular trajectory executed by a blade (57), which a stop (24) prevents from descending low enough to cut the cords connecting together the closure elements (E). The movement thus limited of the blade nevertheless allows it to engaged between these elements in order to make them progress synchronously with the fabric. By the action of a solenoid, a finger (72) can be engaged in a curvilinear slot (62), which forces the lever (44) and the parts which it drives towards the right. The trajectory then followed by the blade (57) avoids the stop, and the blade descends low enough to cut the cord. <IMAGE> |
