Parent patent described a machine for peeling and cutting a food prod. into fragments where pieces of the food prod. covered with skin on one side, are brought into contact with a series of cutting discs by a presentation device comprises a pressing roller. In the addition, the pressing roller is arranged beneath the grid of cutting discs and acts as one of the driving drums for the conveyor belt of the presentation device. The machine comprises a frame supporting two drums which drive the conveyor belt presenting the prod. to the cutting grid; one drum also acts as the pressing roller. The prods., with the skin side downwards, are cut by the cutting discs; the cut pieces, held between adjacent discs, are brought before the blade-cutter, driven by the motor which removes the skin. A chute directs the skin peelings to the storage vat while the fragmented prod. is carried to a comb which extracts the pieces from between the discs and discharges them down the inclined gutter to a storage vat. The re-arrangement of the pressing roller enables the widths of the belts to be increased, and therefore the capacity of the machine. It also leads to an economy in space and less wear on the belts.
