<p>The installation has >=1 suitably orientated solar panel with a large surface area on the roof and other panels on the south facing wall. During periods of heating, the heat trapped by the solar panels is transferred to heating slabs on the ground in which the heat is accumulated. When the heat is not required for heating the airspace, the heat is transferred to a water reservoir where it is stored either to heat the slabs when insufficient heat comes from the solar panels or to heat the water for domestic purposes or for heating a swimming pool. Better, more economical, use is made of the heat trapped by the panels. In hot weather the system can be used as an air cooling system by allowing fresh cold water from the domestic supply to circulate through the slabs.</p> |
