The high security lock includes a latch-bolt (2) and a dead bolt mounted one above the other. The dead bolt is controlled by a key, and the latch (2) either by transmission related to the dead bolt or by electrically operated mechanism. An electromagnet (27) displaces a vertical pivoting arm (24) to release a horizontal pivoting arm (18). The movement of the latter arm (18) releases a spring (16) loaded sleeve (11) which moves to the back of the housing (1). The sleeve in turn displaces the latch (2) by engaging a projecting pin (9). The sleeve is armed by a roller-plunger (14, 12) which retracts as the door is closed.
