The novel cpd. 3-methyl-4-cyclohexyl-butan-2-ol is used as an active agent in perfume compsns. The cpd. is prepared by redn. of 3-methyl-4-phenyl-butan-2-one by catalytic hydrogenation.The perfumes may be used in soaps, detergents and cosmetics products.
