The roller chain is fitted with links made up of side plates separated by rollers. The rollers are mounted on spindles which are rivetted to the sides of the links. The links are arranged in pairs of inner links and pairs of outer links. The spindles (12) are rivetted over the outside of the link so as to form a flange (m3), over the edge of the hole. The end of the spindle is either concave or diamond shaped.
