Each card of a filing system has a row of slots along its top edge. These slots are either U shaped or a circular hole with a narrow slot connecting the hole to the edge. The cards are mounted on flat bars supported between angles in the cabinet. The bars are twisted one end about their longitudinal axes can be moved axially by a push button mounted at the front of the cabinet. This action causes the bars to rotate. By pressing the appropriate buttons the consequent rotation of the corresponding bars enables these bars to align them selves with the slots connecting the holes to the edge of the particular card which then drops out of the file.
