<p>A wheel balancing system has a motor (1) driving the wheel axel assembly (2a, 2b) at a speed monitored by a detector (9). The wheels are driven by a friction roller (5) by a band (6) from the motor. When the wheel speed reaches a preset speed a sensor (8) is samled. The wheels are stopped and a counter balancing weight is placd on the wheel rim. The wheels are again brought up to the preset speed and the sensor (8) resampled. The difference in value of successive samplings of sensor (8) provides an indication of the state of balance of the assembly.</p> |
