The tool is used for forming expanded parts into tubes. The tool has expanding mandrels with segments held together by flexible connections. The mandrel has an axial bore of conical or pyramid cross-section. Into this space enters a similarly shaped plug for expanding the mandrel radially. The cross-section of the plug (10) is larger on the tube end than on the tool end. The plug is connected to the core (2) sliding in a cylinder (1). The front part of the cylinder has a sliding head (17) which is used at the back end of the mandrel as a stop.
