Flame cutting burner with noise redn. hood - which contains sensor indicating change in static pressure or noise

Flame cutting machine has a worktable on which the work-piece rests, and >=1 burner with a cutting nozzle surrounded by a noise redn. hood fitted with a sensor in contact with a controller (a) connected to the controller (b) of the machine. The hood can pref. move axially along the burner according to the static pressure in the hood so the sensor operates a switch (a) which has several positions: the burner pref. has longitudinal slots along which the hood can slide. Alternatively, the hood cannot move on the burner, but has a pressure-sensitive nozzle leading to a pneumatic controller (a) feeding signals to controller (b). A third alternative uses a microphone in the hood, connected to a noise level detector (a). Alterations in pressure or noise can be used e.g. to indicate that the burner flame has died or that the burner has reached the end of the workpiece.
