<p>Cleansing liq. compsn. for light metal surfaces contains by wt. (a) 8-30% builder, (b) 0.5-20% organic solvent, (c) 1-25% anionic detergent and 1-25% nonionic detergent, (d) 0.01-5% fluorosurfactant, (e) 2-30% solubilisers and emulsifiers and (f) water to 100%. A pref. compsn. for cleaning tyre rims contains by wt. 20% K4P2O7, 2% butylglycol, 2% phosphate ester, 2% alkylene oxide adduct, 0.1% fluorosurfactant, 16% K- or Na cumene or xylene sulphonate, bal. water to 100%. The compsn. is used partic. for cleaning vehicle tyre rims, but may also be used in washing metal plate decorations or cladding on buildings. The liq. compsn. which is weakly alkaline, has high creep capacity by virtue of the fluoro surfactants and can penetrate to the least accessible corners. The compsn. removes not only oils and fats but also pigments and dirt from brake linings and road dust without attacking lacquer, rubber or metal surfaces.</p> |
