<p>The press consists of main cylinder with piston. The part of the piston outside the cylinder has extended arms to which the piston rods of the retracting pistons are connected. The main piston is hollow, forms a cylinder containing piston with mandrel attached. At the beginning of the extruding cycle the main extruding ram is in the withdrawn position and filling of chamber with material in granulated or liquid form takes place, while mandrel is in the lowered position closing up tightly passage to working chamber. During the extruding operation mandrel withdraws and the material is pressed into the chamber by main rod. The final extrusion is carried out by auxiliary ram moving upwards, while mandrel is again in the lowered position. The design reduces the flow resistance of the pressed material during the extruding operation. At the same time the press is fitted with a device which ensures an accurate cycle sequence between extruding and recharging.</p> |
