<p>The adjustable chair, especially swivel office chairs, comprises a leg frame connected to a seat support structure (2) by a support (6) which is designed as a conveyor means to raise and lower the support structure. A telescopic length-adjustable column (8) which runs parallel to the support (6) is fastened at one end (10) to the support structure (2) and near its other end (9) to the support (6) so that it can be axially displaced. At this end (9) the column (8) has a crossbeam (12) on which is mounted the adjustable foot rest (7) which tilts round an axis which runs in the direction of the crossbar. This foot rest which can be fitted to existing swivel chairs can thus be adjusted axially as well as vertically to meet the requirements of a person of any height. Since the foot rest is held stable it can act as a step to reach the seat.</p> |
