A time-controlled interruption mechanism for real time computers is designed to achieve greater computer loading and hence efficiency, w.r.t. priority controlled devices. The selection of interruption signals occuring during operation is decided according to time characteristics in for form of response times, in which case time intervals are used, or time limits, in which case time point selection is employed. Time limit operation involves processing at definite times and interval operation involves processing after intervals have elapsed. The two methods achieve the same result when only one processor is used.
|
