A circuit board for optical and optoelectronic circuits has a laminated base consisting of a base-plate (1) and one or more optically conducting layers (2) in which a pattern of conductors is fashioned by printing the intended pattern (6) in a resistant ink. Removal of the parts of the coating not protected by the ink is carried out by a solution in which the optically conducting material is soluble. The resistant ink may remain as an opaque boundary to the optical conductor. The complete circuit board may have an optical fibre pattern formed as on one side of a base, with an associated electrical printed circuit on the other side.
