<p>Sound insulation is described for railway vehicles, having bogies with sound-absorbent plates, consisting of several layers. The plates are positioned outside the wheels, at the top ends of the bogies, and enclose the wheel sets as described in the Parent Patent. Improvement is that the outer layer of the plate, facing the wheel sets is of polyurethane integral foam with sealed external skin. This plate side has apertures acting as cavity resonators. In front of the wheels, the plates are extended at the lower sides up to the vehicle limits. The lower plate edge carries a profiled rail, with a strip of sound absorbent material inserted into it.</p> |
