<p>1524546 Fastening device I D ENG INC 29 Oct 1975 [30 Oct 1974] 44748/75 Headings E2A and E2B A fastening device 10 comprises (a) a non- metallic housing 24 closed at one end and at the other end having a recess 30 and a central opening 28, (b) a retaining ring 30 located in the recess 30 and having a surface 58 tapering inwardly toward the open end, (iii) an insert 26 of magnetic material loosely received in housing 24 and having an axial bore 48 and at least one transverse bore 42 at its lower end, (iv) a pin 52, the shank 50 of which extends into the axial bore 48, (v) retaining balls 44, 46 in bores 42 and (vi) a spring 38 biassing insert 26 toward the open end of the housing so that surface 58 urges balls 44, 46 inwardly to retain the pin in the bore 48, the pin being released by moving the insert away from the ring by a releasing tool.</p> |
