The cleaner has a base (1) surrounded by a skirt (2) in contact with the floor to be cleaned (S). A housing (4) contains an electric motor to drive the brush (5). The base may be connected through a joint section (10) to a central vacuum cleaning plant (18-24). A pedal (13) controls this part of the machine where it acts as a vacuum cleaner, aspirating excess moisture and accumulated hair and fibre from the end of the bristles of the brush.
