<p>The jack for use with a surgical table can be used for manipulating the position of a patient by means of auxiliary equipment. Its head (1) is fixed in position and contains gearing driven through a shaft (8, 9) at one side. This gearing drives a screw thread (2) passing through the head and raises or lowers a plate (6) fitted witha support (13) for the auxiliary equipment. A guide rod (3, 4) each side passes through bushes inthe heads and these guide the movement of the support. Extension shafts can be fitted for remote control from either end of the table.</p> |
