The motor driven bandsaw is used for cutting metal parts, especially for ship building and tank construction. The endless bandsaw blade is guided over a driving wheel and guide rollers. This guiding wheel can be adjusted relative to the housing. The saw blade (20) is tensioned by an electric arrangement which adjusts the driving wheel (22) shaft (26) by means of manually operated levers (36, 50). The shaft is held in two adjustable eccentric sleeves (30, 32) connected with the drive motor (54) and the driving wheel (22). Both eccentric sleeves have different displacement angles, for example, these angles can be in opposite phase.
