Electron beam generator for CRT - has electrode on glass rod and tapered section with hole engaging rivet type protrusions

An electron beam generation system is fitted in a c.r.t., the electrodes being attached to several glass rods. The object is to prevent overloading because of the high potential of the anode. It is possible to subject the tube to high impact and shock loading. The h.v. electrode (2) is cylindrically shaped with a tapered section (5). There are holes (3) along the latter. These holes are used to engage the glass rods which support the electrode. The glass rods are made with extensions (4) which fit into the holes through the ring section (5) of the electrode. The fit is similar to a rivet.
