Optical, esp. liquid crystal display with reflecting coating - applied to adhesive layer under high temperature and pressure

In an optical display, esp. a liq. crystal display, part of the device is covered by a reflecting layer. This reflecting coating consists of an outer protective layer, a reflecting layer of a metal vapourised onto the protective layer and an inner transparent adhesive layer bordering on the covered part of the device. The reflecting layer is applied to its part of the device under high temp. and pressure. The reflecting layer is between 0.001 - 0.01/u thick. The protective layer is of colourless or coloured lacquer. The reflecting layer is aluminium. The part of the device covered by the reflecting layer is of synthetic material and pref. of acrylic glass. Provides a reflecting layer which retains its good reflecting qualities for a long time. It will adhere irreproachably to an uneven substrate surface and can be produced under economically satisfactory conditions.
