Blister packaged cleaning rod has a head which is covered by a foamed PVC sleeve impregnated with an isopropanol as cleaning fluid, the package being hermetical to prevent evaporation of the fluid. Pref. the head which has an oval or rectangular cross-section is provided at one end with a dove-tail received in a handle provided with an under-cut groove. Used for cleaning data processing discs. Rod which is impregnated with the required amt. of cleaning liquid, cleans the discs in a scratch proof manner.
