<p>The lock operating system comprises a vacuum unit (1) actuating the lock through a two part rod (5, 6). The two rod sections are connected by an elastic slotted cylinder (4), the bore of which tapers at the top to enclose a disc (7) on the upper rod (5). The lower rod (6) is drawn downwards, the elastic cylinder (4) passing through the aperture (10). Tension in the upper rod (5) causes the cylinder (4) to spread, preventing manual unlocking until the vacuum is released. The system achieves positive prevention of manual unlocking, not attained by the vacuum alone.</p> |
