The electrode held in contact with the skin of a patient for electro cardiography has holes (3) through it, to increase the contact. Their area is equal to at least 30 cu. mm. This area is less than 200 cu. mm, preferably 70 cu. mm. The holes may be arranged in a pattern which gives a decreasing area in the direction of movement of the electrode. The holes may be round, square, or may be in the form of slots. An alternative design has two arrow shaped slots, each made up of separated cut-outs. The electrode may consist of a plate bent over into a U-shape with horizontal arms, the top arm having a connection for the cable, this being not more than 10 mm above it, at its centre of gravity.
|
