The skeleton frame construction building ccomprises prefabricated reinforced concrete components, with hinged supports, of storey height. Downstand beams are supported on these and ceiling slabs transverse to the beams interconnected to form a cohesive ceiling panel in each storey by reinforecemtn and joint casting. Each hinged support extends froma base or from the top of a downstand beam to the bottom of a beam above. The beams are in the form of a continuous or cantilever beams, with undersides mounted on the top end faces of the hinged supports. In the support area, the upper sides of the beams may incorporate a depression for filling with a compensating mass.
