<p>The flexible drive is for a dental drill which has a two jaw chuck for gripping a tool and incorporates a plug-in coupling. This has a sleeve (4) on the chuck end, with a recess (18) to hold the cylindrical end (9) of the drive end portion. The cylindrical end has a pin through it with its two ends (10b) projecting. These fit into corresponding slots (5) across the end of the sleeve part. Around the end of the sleeve, and bridging the slots is a spring ring (7) which retains the pin after insertion. The ends of the pin have sloping faces (10a) to form a lead-in. Following the plug-in connection is a three jaw connection with a locking nut around it.</p> |
