Electromagnetic punched tape printer - using rotating armature to control punch and tape movement

The electromagnetically operated punched tape print-out unit, e.g. for telex communications, employs a rotating armature (1), with a large number of peripheral poles. A connection-rod (4) is pivoted to a point around the periphery of the armature (1) and is coupled to the perforating punch (8) via a stamp block (7) and a follower block (14). The latter is movable backwards and forwards and is coupled via a connection-rod (5) to a further armature (16), driven in the same sense as the first armature (1).
