Rapid inflation of flexible rafts etc. by inert gas - generated by evaporation by catalytically produced heat and used to drive air ejector pump

Generation of an inert gas mixt. for use with inflatable boats, bridge pontoons etc. is effected by catalytic decomposition of a liquid in an exothermic process. The gas heated in this decomposition provides heat through a heat exchanger to a second liquid and vaporises it to produce an inert gas; these two gases are then mixed together and supplied to an ejector pump as the propellent gas; air drawn into this ejector pump and, mixed with the gas mixt., is supplied to the inflatable article. Large amt. of inflating capacity is obtd. with a min. wt. of equipment. The system is esp. designed for light weight portable equipment.
