In applying a dyestuff to flocked surfaces, such as plates for containers of sheet metal or cardboard, or plastics, a screen printer is used to apply an adhesive to the surface to be flocked. After flocking, a screen printer or an offset printer is used to apply a dyestuff to the flocked surface. The process gives a rapid and trouble-free method for continuously mfg. flocked items.
