Data collecting equipment with separate printer and processor - allows several processors to use one printer using VCO and address store

A data collection equipment is typically for detecting and storing in hard printed copy the record of some variable or set of variables such as temperature, light etc. A number of buffer units can be linked to a single hard copy printer unit. Each basic buffer or processor units contains a VCO which produces a pulse train of frequency dependent on the input from measurement transducer or instrument. The pulse train represents a stream of data which is stored in a storage block under the control of a suitable control network. An address store clock generator and auxiliary battery complete the processor unit. Periodicaly, the store in the processor is emptied into an output unit containing a hard copy printer and appropriate data c onversion, control and main battery from which the auxiliary processor batteries my be charge.
