. A device for use in the formation of lead-acid battery plates comprises a hollow, elongated body which at one end is formed with a hole communicating with the bore in the body and is adapted for insertion into the filling and venting aperture of a battery lid. A closure member is provided at the other end of the body and is formed with an opening to allow gases generated during formation to vent to atmosphere. Moreover, baffle means is provided in the bore in the body so as to lie in the path of the gases flowing through the bore in use and thereby assist in removing acid entrained in said gases. |
