The treatment for the hair permits one to obtain some locks of different colours, or a range of colours or shades. The treatment substance is introduced in a comb (10) and the lock of hair to be treated is combed from the scalp to the end and towards the centre so that the treatment substance coats the hair. The treatment substance is either bleach or colouring material and preferably has a thick consistency. The treatment substance is held in receptacles (13) in the comb which are open on three sides, limited laterally by the teeth (11) and extending towards the front.
