Plastics or rubber hose connector has an outwardly diverging, axially extending spigot provided at the axially inner end with a rectangular under-cut groove which is >=3 mm wide. The grove receives the end of the hose when deformed by an axially split locking ring in association with a clp fitted in a groove of the ring.
