The stack (1) is supported by a pressure spring (2) and held under the roller (3) which feeds one sheet at a time in between the endless belts (5, 6). The top belt (13) has slots equally spaced along it. The sheets pass under the pad (9) and the spring loaded roller (12). If a double sheet fed, the top sheet is held under the pad by means of a vacuum applied through the perforated belt. The sheets are allowed to proceed through to the endless belts (14, 15) after separation.
