<p>Ca Pantothenate (I) in MeOH soln. is recovered by adding the soln. to a still contg. a solvent (e.g. octane) at a temp. above the b pt. of the MeOH. The addition rate is such that the heat input to the still is balanced so that the MeOH evaporates immediately and the (I) is pptd. in the hot solvent. Provides efficient recovery of the MeOH and of the (I), which is used as a vitamin and an animal feeds etc. The starting liquor may be obtd. from a (I)-CaCl2 complex prodn. process, the complex being used directly in animal feeds and feed supplements.</p> |
