The reinforcing material is (partly) composed of textile. It comprises a tubular textile sheath formed by two sets of intersecting threads running obliquely in relation to the sheath centre line, and securing a further set of threads running parallel to this line. The sheath covers a continuous internal component which is flexible and with a material base compatible with the resins normally used in the mfr. of stratified items, its surface fitting against the inside of the sheath. The tubular textile sheath can be formed by a braid with two sets of intersecting oblique threads and one set of longitudinal ones held in place by them.
