<p>The wet and dry brushing and cleaning of garments and other textiles is effected by the machine of the invention. It may further by used during bleaching and dyeing operations. The machine comprises a base with a stand supporting a surface on which are mounted near to the front edge two supports holding a bearing in which turns a shaft. A V-pulley is fitted at one end whilst on the other is mounted a flexible shaft. The left-hand flexible shaft holds at its free end a support bearing a brush, so that when the flexible shaft is turned, the support and its brush are turned also. The right hand flexible shaft holds a support with a metallic brush and an abrasive surface. The V-pulleys are driven by a belt with an electric motor ixed to the surface at an equal distance from the supports. The current is fed through an electronic control box through the intermediary of a pedal switch near to the work table. The control box is used to maintain a constant speed of brushing, or to vary it, as required, or to stop the motor in the case of accident. Previously, this work has been done by hand. the machine provides a less costly alternative, and has a higher output.</p> |
