PURPOSE:To always accurately stop a bar steel at a target position and to smoothly transfer same by correcting the lowering and plunging timing of a slider according to the deviation between an actual stop position and the target stop position of the bar steel material. CONSTITUTION:A material position detector Sp searches a fixed groove on the inlet side of a cooling floor 7 in the lengthwise direction of the material to detect the material position. A detecting circuit D for the stop position of the steel detects the actual stop position shown when the bar steel slides on the slider 6 and stops according to a signal of this detector Sp. The arithmetic circuit E for the deviation of the stop position operates the deviation P between this actual stop position and the target stop position Po. This deviation P is given to an arithmetic circuit F for correcting value of the stop position through a contact 2. Whenever the bar steel is transferred to the cooling floor 7, a stop position deviation P is given to the arithmetic circuit F for the correcting value of the stop position. The correcting value L of the stop position is operated based on this result and this is given to the control distance arithmetic circuit B to request a braking distance L. Based on this result, the lowering and plunging timing of the slider 6 is corrected to stop the bar steel at the target position. |
