<p>The transfer support receives a layer of film-forming varnish on its lower side as it passes through the rollers. Transfer print motifs are applied on to the varnish layer by the printing rollers. The transfer of the layer of varnish and the prints is effected on to the support by the pressure rollers. The composite band of the two support sheets passes through a drier and is wound on to a storage reel. At a later stage, the two support sheets are sepd., and the transfer support sheet, stripped of its varnish and printed motifs, may be returned for re-use. The layer of film-forming varnish provides a high gloss effect without need for applying a sheet of cellulosic film.</p> |
