<p>Mixts. for use as fuels contain minor amts. of a stabiliser contg. acidic and basic components. (The mixts. are pref. prepd. by (a) forming a water-in oil dispersion contg. one of the stabiliser components, (b) adding the dispersion to the oil, (c) adding the other stabiliser component to the water, and (d) mixing the oil and water. The acid can be HNO3, H2SO4, acetic acid, H2CO3, H3PO4, HF or a bisulphate. The base is pref. an alkali(ne earth) metal hydroxide). Stabilisers of the above type give stable homogeneous mixts. at lower concns. than conventional emulsifiers.</p> |
