Ski boot bodies are made by blow moulding hollow parisons having varying wall thickness to suit thickness variations required for different parts of the boot. The process is for making boot bodies of e.g. polyurethane of PVC, using tools of e.g. Al which are simple and cheaper than tools for making corresponding forms by injection moulding, because of the lower process stresses involved, and because no core tool is necessary. Lower tool costs allow a wider variety of boot sizes and shapes to be produced economically.
|
