A glue for wallpapers and coverings for walls, ceilings and floors contains generally 80-96 vol.% (w.r.t. total dry material) of a powder which allows subsequent cleavage of the dried adhesive layer by pulling the wallpaper or covering glued with it. The powder, consisting of particles of very low grain size, pref. smooth and spherical, is mixed with 5-20 vol.% (dry) adhesive material which is flexible after drying. The powder does not dissolve in, react with or adhere more than slightly to the adhesive material. The powder pref. consists of particles of quartz, glass, a thermoplastic material pref polyethylene, plasticised PVC or an elastomer, pref. rubber. and the adhesive material is e.g. a dispersion of an acrylic ester copolymer, opt. plasticised. Although a covering e.g. a wallpaper, treated with this glue, sticks well to its support, it can subsequently be detached, dry, from that surface, simply by pulling it by hand.
|
