The two dc collecting bars are mechanically joined together by an insulator. The rectifier has diodes with two contact surfaces, one of which is electrically and thermally connected with one of the collecting bars. Ac terminals are electrically and thermally connected with the other contact surface. The ac side contact surfaces of the diodes (7, 8) have cooling plates (9, 10). Both dc collecting bars (1, 2) have angular cross-sections and are combined in a box-like cooling element with U-shaped cross-section with long side walls (4, 5) and a bottom.
